Hindu Wedding in Italy – Deepa & Loven
Loven and Deepa, a young Indian couple from London, had dreamt of a Hindu Wedding in Italy, which could bring together their family’s Hindu traditions with their more western culture in the beautiful atmosphere of Italy.
During their venues site visit the couple had visited many Castles in Tuscany and finally fell in love with the iconic Castello di Vincigliata just outside Florence. The Castle was the stunning setting of their first day of celebration, their Hindu ceremony.
As bright and colourful as Indian weddings are, the venue was decorated following the colour palette of the bride and groom attire: gold and maroon with the ceremony staged around a big golden mandap decorated with marron drapes and red, orange flowers.
The second day was celebrated at a beautiful Medicean Villa, which is particularly suitable for big weddings as it is part of a bigger estate were around 200 people can be accommodated within walking distance from the main Villa.
In addition, the Villa is one of the few in Tuscany where couples can get legally married, allowing couples to organise everything at the same venue. The civil ceremony was followed by a traditional Italian wedding reception in the gardens of the Villa which offer a breath-taking panorama over the Tuscan hills. Thanks to the lack of curfew, the evening party went on until the early hours of the morning.
